Quill Paper Scissors

Quill Paper Scissors aka Becci makes lots of quirky items from paper or wood, often using upcycled materials. This hand-made range includes lino-printed cards, bunting and handwritten calligraphy pictures. Becci's favourite items are her rustic wooden houses, made with upcyled wood.

After years of being a teacher it's lovely to have time to escape the paperwork and instead be creative with paper. Based in Frodsham.

Sam is an illustrator and surface pattern designer living in the heart of Cheshire with her border collie, Xena (after the Warrior Princess!) and fiancé. She works mostly with gouache paint to create brightly coloured illustrations with lots of lovely textures.

Originally from South Africa, Sam moved to the UK when she was 7 and has mostly lived in Cheshire since, apart from 3 years in Liverpool while studying Illustration and Graphic Design. Sam is made up to be back in Cheshire where both forest and countryside walks are just around the corner!

Secret Shores

The sea is good for the soul and there’s nothing Kathryn at Secret Shores loves more than spending hours on the beach rejuvenating the mind and combing for all the magical treasures that the sea sweeps in.

This Bolton based artist gave up full time employment four years ago to care for her daughter with additional needs and to attain a healthier work-life balance. She saw this as an opportunity to return to her life long love of art and now combines this with her passion for the sea and nature to produce quirky pieces of mixed media art.

When she’s not spending time with her daughter or in her garden workshop, she’s out exploring with her two Labrador’s in search of materials and inspiration.

Spirit & Wick Candles

Based in Flint with his wife and two kids, Ian works full time in the NHS. His love for both gin and candles led him to start Spirit & Wick Candles. "I just couldn't stand throwing away some of the lovely bottles, so decided to turn them into candles".

Spirit and Wick Candles recycles beautiful spirit bottles and transforms them into candles made from soy wax and using sustainable wooden wicks.

Wherever possible they use recyclable card and paper tape for postage and packaging. They sell mostly from craft stalls around Chester and North Wales, or you can get in touch directly at the link below.

The Studio at Melrose

Based in Chester, Rhona is a psychologist by day who started making jewellery about 6 years ago when she turned 40. Having always been inspired to run her own business this hobby turned into a side hustle and passion.

Thimble & Pear

Based in a small village in Cheshire, Jayne loves to make beautiful pieces for the home.

Jayne carves lino prints inspired by Polish embroidery designs and nature, which she then uses to hand-print fabric… which she then uses to create unique, timeless pieces such as book covers, boxes and make-up bags. She also loves to create ornamental fabric dolls, dressed in soft faded colours and prints.

For an eco-friendly gift, Jane packages her products in cardboard boxes and tissue paper. She always recycles as much fabric as possible in the crafting process, making sure to cut cloth economically and avoiding synthetic fabrics.
